The multiple-struck 1997 penny

The Multiple Strike is an error that is struck more than once.

What Happens

The coin is struck once. When it is rejected, the coin is not pushed out correctly. The dies strike again and the coin is double struck. This can happen many times in a row until the planchet is rejected.
